With so much attention being given to rappers who sing and the raging debate on whether singing is “hip-hop” we decided to ask: who are hip-hop’s best singers?

10) TJ Swan: The Juice Crew all-star sings the hooks on Biz Markie’s “Nobody Beats The Biz” and MC Shan’s “Left Me Lonely,” just to name a few.

9) Sleepy Brown:This Dungeon Family crooner has laced countless songs from Outkast and Goodie Mob including “I Can’t Wait” and Big Gipp’s “Steppin’ Out.”

8. Phonte of Little Brother: The Little Brother front man has sung hooks for his own group as well as Playaz Circle (“Paper Chaser”) and Statik Seletktah. He recently released a full CD of his singing, Leave It All Behind, as part of The Foreign Exchange.

3) T-Pain: While he took shots early on for being a Roger Troutman clone this Tallahasee, FL native’s impact on the hip-hop and R&B game is undeniable.

2) Cee-Lo Green & Lauryn Hill (tie): One of the original rapper-turnt-singers, Cee-Lo is among a select group of MCs who has enjoyed consistent critical and commercial success with his singing ability. Lauryn’s solo debut is a hip-hop classic but she’s gone A.W.O.L. (And bonkers) since.

1) Nate Dogg: From Ludacris’ “Area Codes” and Snoop’s “Ain’t No Fun” to Dre’s “Next Episode” he is Hip-Hop’s undisputed best hooker (R.I.P.). But clearly Akon doesn’t agree with me.

Honorable Mention:

Blue Rasberry: This in-house female vocalists for the Wu-Tang clan can be heard on many of the Wu’s most popular songs including “Release Yo Delf” and “Rainy Dayz.”

The man single-handedly responsible for the music industry’s obsessive trend of using machine-assisted vocals on their tracks has done the unthinkable and swore off the very thing that made him famous. T-Pain has vowed to never use Auto-Tune again, according to a statement published on Allhiphop.com.

“I vow right here, right now, to never use Auto-Tune again,” T-Pain told the website in a statement. “I’m onto something that I think is bigger and better called ‘The T-Pain Effect.’”

T-Pain revisits his rapping side on “You Copying Me” which addresses his journey from being the one hated on in his hometown to the one that everyone seems to be mimicking.

The track’s uptempo nature feels a little out of place in 2011 hip-hop, where everyone seems to want to rap over tracks that are slower than a sprinting turtle. Honestly, we can’t wait for Lil’ Kim to hear this and then release yet another Nicki Minaj diss…

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, and for many people across the world, that means it’s a day to get sloppy drunk and do lots of things that you’ll regret-slash-forget the next morning.

Before you start partaking in your drinking of choice, we put together a playlist to guide you through your day of boozing it up.

Life is hard sometimes. We completely understand that. Sometimes you need to just feel the need to go out and drink a few just to forget about stress at work, or your rocky relationship, or whatever is troubling you.

Lil’ Wayne says that he and Drake recorded so much material for Wayne’s upcoming Tha Carter IV, that they might have an album’s worth of material for a collab album that could see release by the end of the year.

“That right there, that’s always been in the making,” Weezy told Sway of MTV News. “We’ve always been in the studio or we’ve always been having conversations about ‘Let’s do something together. Let’s do an album together.’”

He’s like, ‘I don’t want to disrespect none of those situations, so I’m just going to wait until you have a real good moment to focus on you and I doing an album,’” Wayne said.

When asked when his album with Drake might drop, Lil’ Wayne said it could drop by the end of the year. I want it to be a year when we actually have a moment and we can do it. It’s coming up. Probably the end of the year if we work hard at it,” he said.

T-Pain is stirring up the controversy pot just in time for his new album RevolveR. The cartoon-character like rapper said he wouldn’t put another album out until record sales picked back up. He then blamed Drake for his album not coming out yet–claiming he was waiting for an unfinished verse from the Young Money rapper. Now T-Pain is basically saying scratch that; he’ll leak his own album online:

“Since nobody wants to respect this form of art that you all say we “love” so much, I’m just gonna go ahead and start leakin the album myself tonight. well maybe I shouldn’t rant but everybody was lookin at me strange when I said I didn’t wanna drop my album, it’s not that album sales weren’t doin good for hip hop and rnb, it just felt like no one respected “music” anymore.

You know what, you guys enjoy the post game and I’ll find my own ways to take care of my family. Oh and bty the “I Am T-Pain” Toy Microphone is comin in June (google that). To all the hackers and leakers thanks for showin interest in my music but I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of when I’m just tryin to let ppl know what’s goin on with my music and then you audio highjack it for your own amusement I would have been happier if you would have just waited to get a better quality version of the song but it’s cool its pretty much my fault anyways, so for the most part y’all can suck a fart out of a homeless mans ass.”[Via Twitter]

T-Pain currently has more chains and tattoos for that matter than albums which makes it kind of hard to understand why he is waiting so long to put another one out. Last June, T-Pain claimed he wouldn’t be putting out an album until record sales picked up and now he is blaming Drake for his current project not being released. The Circus Master said this on Twitter: “I know yall waitin on the album but the last thing I need is a verse from drake and the album is complete. So find drake and tell him to hurry the hell up and finish the verse Hahahahaaaa #twitterbomb. By the way the song with drake on it is the next sigle as well so that’s why I haven’t dropped a new single yet. Jus lettin you know.”

I give Faheem Rasheed Najm(yes that is his real name) the benefit of the doubt because I’m still listening to “Can’t Believe It” and I really can’t wait to hear Drizzy and Pain on a track!

First, Gucci Mane got his infamous ice cream cone tattoo on his face. Now T-Pain has had something fairly ridiculous inked on his arm. The “rapper ternt sanga” recently had the Facebook “Like” button tatted on his arm. The full tattoo says “You Don’t Have To Like Me.”

T-Pain recently posted a picture of the tattoo on his Twitter page.

“I get a tatt every time I come to Hawaii. I think this ones pretty sweet, unless facebook shuts down soon,” T-Pain tweeted.

On the set of DJ Khaled’s video “Welcome To My Hood” T-Pain couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show off his diamond-encrusted liquor bottle collection. Over the past few months he’s been collecting the tacky trinkets, first a Nuvo Chain and then a Ciroc bottle chain. The collection has expanded to include Ludacris’ Conjure cognac and Armand De Bringac “Ace Of Spade” Champagne.

On one side his fans say it’s his money and he can do what he wants with it, but on the other side are those who think it’s a terrible waste of money. Whichever side you’re on, how would you caption this?

T-Pain first came to the attention of many folks thanks to Akon, who signed the auto-tune enthusiast to his Konvict Music record label.

However, it looks like T-Pain might be jumping ship and signing with Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money crew.

According to the “official jeweler” of Cash Money & Young Money, Gabriel Jacobs of Rafaello & Co, a Young Money chain was just completed for T-Pain that is valued at around $45,000.

In the latest episode of “The Spark” Amanda Diva sits down with the legendary Quincy Jones to discuss his tribute CD, Soul Bossa Nostra. Like most of us Ms. Diva was scratching her head at the T-Pain remake of Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T” and we applaud her for respectfully calling him out on it. But Mr. Jones was adamant that it was not a bad move.

“It’s just another piece of technology. If you know music the machine works for you,” he says of the vocoder/auto-tune effect. “If you don’t know music you work for the machine.”

T-Pain’s latest addition to his chain collection is an iced out Ciroc bottle.

The “rapper turnt sanga” posted pics of the chain on his Twitter account. He previously purchased an iced out Nuvo bottle chain earlier this summer.

T-Pain also tweeted a third pic, stating that his Conjure cognac chain is on its way:

Nuvo better be paying T-Pain lots of money, or at least paying for his latest diamond masterpiece of a Nuvo bottle.

T-Pain mentioned before, when he bought his “Big A** Chain” that his children were well taken care of so there was no need to fret over money spent. We hope his children are still taken care of because this foolery is very costly and can put a couple of students through college!

Sara Stokes Files Lawsuit Against T-Pain Over Jennifer Hudson Song

(AllHipHop News) T-Pain has been hit with a lawsuit by songwriter/former MTV reality star Sara Stokes, who claims the producer cheated her out of royalties for song they co-authored for R&B singer Jennifer Hudson.

Stokes rose to fame after being featured on Making The Band 2 and as a member of Diddy’s group Da Band, which released one album, Too Hot For TV (2003).

Saramony Entertainment filed the lawsuit on Friday (June 4th) in Missouri Eastern District Court, claiming she produced and co-wrote two songs with T-Pain, including Hudson’s tune “What’s Wrong (Go Away),” from the Grammy Award winning album Jennifer Hudson.

Stokes, claims that although Hudson’s album went Gold, she has received no producer, songwriter or performer credits for her role in created “What’s Wrong (Go Away).”

“Only slight deviations in the lyrics exist between Stokes’ version and the released version, whereas the whole musical composition is the exact same on which Stokes collaborated with Najm,” according to Stokes lawyer.
