Recently freed rapper T.I. has been making the media rounds since his release from prison, and today the Atlanta MC/actor paid a visit to his hometown station, Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 and “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.”

In addition to talking about his upcoming album King Uncaged, due in August, the King of the South also reminisced about meeting President Barack Obama (then just a senator), running into basketball legend Michael Jordan in Atlanta’s legendary strip club Magic City, and why he didn’t want Tiny doing her reality show anymore.

In the latest chapter of the on-going T.I. vs Alfamega soap opera, Tip’s former bodyguard/friend claims that Mr. Harrison is in a secret society.

He also claims that he squashed a beef between T.I. and Rick Ross and that T.I. is holding back Young Dro.

T.I. granted his first interview since leaving jail to Larry King on CNN last night.

In the lengthy interview, Tip talks about his personal life, his arrest, his time in jail, and what he has in store for the world.

When asked by Larry King how he went from a straight-A student (hello Plies!) to being jailed for trying to illegally purchase firearms, T.I. claimed that he felt his life was in danger.

T.I.’s recent trip to a middle school in Georgia didn’t sit too well with the parents of the students.

Out of jail and doing community service, Clifford “T.I.” Harris made a trip to Woodland Middle School in Henry County on March 5, an unwanted surprise for one family.

Tom Myers was surprised when his daughter came home and told him that T.I. had been the speaker at the assembly on anti bullying. Myers told 11Alive News that had he known T.I. was speaking, he would not have allowed his daughter to attend. So he wrote an e-mail to Woodland’s principal, Dr. Terry Oatts.

“The first e-mail I sent to him was to ask that from now on we have some kind of parental input whether or not a speaker is appropriate. If I don’t want my child to be there, just give me the right to opt them out,” Myers said.

Myers also wrote in the e-mail, “How about next time, let him mow the grass or pick up the trash around the school grounds? If the kids see that they might understand that what he did was wrong.”

In e-mails obtained by 11Alive News, Oatts replied in his e-mail, “I thought about asking a guy who snorted cocaine and got arrested for DUI when he was 30 to come and speak to our kids, but President George W. Bush was not available.”

Oatts went on to write in the exchanges with Myers that even the president made mistakes when he was young, and that T.I.’s messages to the students was ‘to take their education seriously, put forth their best effort, pursue their dreams and not engage in bullying.’

Today marks the day that T.I. finishes his sentence after being put away last year on weapons charges.

After being placed in a halfway house for awhile, T.I. spent the last 30 days of his sentence on house arrest.   That all ends today, though.

T.I. will be able to freely roam the streets of Atlanta, but he has to be home before the street lamps turn on 11pm.

According to TMZ, T.I. will now be placed under 23 days of supervised release. He’ll have to be home by 11pm unless he’s performing, when he’ll have to be home by 1am.  T.I. will also have to complete 400 hours of community service and will be put on probation for three years.

T.I.’s lawyer recently confirmed that the rapper, who is finishing up his sentence on felony weapons charges, will complete his jail sentence on March 26th.

T.I. is currently in a halfway house after serving eight months in a low security federal state prison in Forest City, Arkansas.

Today, March 5th, T.I. will be on a conference call with select DJs nationwide to hype up his new single “I’m Back” which is the lead single from his forthcoming album.

Rapper T.I. could be back in front of a judge, but instead of criminal charges, the rapper is being sued for copyright infringement by an upcoming rapper.

At issue is T.I.’s Grammy Award winning song “What You Know,” which Nathan Filby aka Motoe Blizzid, claims T.I. stole.

Filby, who is being represented by One LLP, claims the 2006 track sampled portions of a 2004 song he made titled Reverence.

T.I. Already Recording New Album

He claims that the track was delivered to a number of industry insiders before reaching a representative at Relentless Management, a company that reportedly works with T.I.

In court documents, One LLP and Filby claimed that the tracks contain the “same harmonic” range and lawyers even presented documents that showed an algorithm that claimed to show the song’s similarities scientifically.

According to reports, Filby seeks a trial by jury and all profits derived from the song, which was featured on T.I.’s hit album King.

T.I. is currently in a halfway house after serving almost 8 months in a low security prison, after he was caught purchasing machine guns and silencers in October of 2008.

According to the producer, the King of the South hasn’t let lockdown dampen his spirits. “It doesn’t seem like he missed a beat,” he exclusively tells Rap-Up.com. “He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he’s excited to be out and working. He hasn’t changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in.”

T.I. hit the ground running and is already in the studio crafting the follow-up to 2008’s multi-platinum Paper Trail. “He’s back in the studio. I sent him some music via email,” Jonsin reveals. “He can work during the week and not on the weekend, I believe. He’s definitely working on an album for this year right now.”

The project’s direction is still up in the air. “That’s really going to be determined by him. We’re supposed to get together or talk more about it soon,” Jonsin shares. “But his last album was great and his sound already does really well, so I wouldn’t see him changing too much.”

Alfamega told AllHipHop.com that his daughter was involved in some sort of altercation inside of the club which, resulted in her being stabbed multiple times.

Alfamega’s son was also beaten and suffered from a broken jaw, when he tried to intervene on behalf of his sister.

“I had a talk with Tip’s uncle Derrick, who co-owns Club Crucial,” Alfamega told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. “I was like ‘my daughter got stabbed up there dog and my son got his jaw fractured. He ‘was like huh? I didn’t know that.’ They didn’t know, they people they got into it with didn’t know they were my children. I was told that my children wasn’t in the wrong. The girls and the dudes attacked her and stabbed her and basically my son jumped in cause they were attacking his sister and somebody hit him from the blindside.”

His daughter suffered from three stab wounds in addition to one collapsed lung.

She was released from the hospital and is currently recuperating from her injuries, as is the rapper’s son who also suffered multiple contusions, in addition to the broken jaw.

At press time it is not known if anyone has been charged in the assault.

According to a well-placed source, rapper T.I., who is serving a 12 month and a day bid on gun possession charges, will be released to an Atlanta halfway house to serve out the remainder of his sentence after the New Year.

This is good news to the legions of fans of the wordsmith widely considered the best rapper of his generation.

T.I. is expected to be released to the halfway house before his scheduled May 26 release date — maybe in February or March 2010. Unlike the strict prison rules that T.I. must now adhere to, the halfway house rules will be more relaxed.

T.I. will most likely be allowed to leave the halfway house during the day to work at his Grand Hustle offices or even to marry his sweetheart Tameka “Tiny” Cottle!

Rap has been in a downward spiral for sometime. If this was the nineties when I was in love with Hip Hop it would be hard to make a Top 100 list. Still their were tons of dope Hip Hop songs in the 00s. Here’s my Top 10, for today at least.

10. “Ooh” by De La Soul Ft Redman. This song can rock a party and has some of my favorite lyricists of all time.

9. “I’m Black” By Styles P. Dope song about the realities and pride of being an African American. Sucks they didn’t make this a single.

8. “What You Know” by T.I. This song has a dope beat a dope hook and T.I. rides the beat impeccably.

7. “Home” by Kanye West. This is a dope love song for Chicago. It was supposed to be on College Dropout but he used the lyrics later for homecoming on Graduation.

6. “Killa Cam” By Cam’ron. This is Cam at his best, nonsensical gangsta rap nursery rhymes over a dope soulful beat.

5. “Get By Remix” By Talib Queli Ft. Mos Def, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes and Kanye West. The original was dope but he addition of Mos, Jay and Kanye put it over the edge.

4. “Hate It Or Love It” By The Game Ft. 50 Cent. Neither rapper has been as good as they where on this song. Rather than glorifying gangsterism like they do on other songs they actually look inwards for the causes of it.

3. “Heart Of The City” Jay-Z. It’s hard to pick my favorite song off the Blueprint but this one represents the whole album to me. Jay presents his rap veteran status and the hate that comes along with it perfectly over a soulful beat and hook.

2. “Got Yourself” By Nas. I thought Nas was done after “Takeover” but he came back hard and intelligent. This song represents his re-birth.

1. “Wishing” By Ed O G And Masta Ace. I wouldn’t have even heard this song if it wasn’t for the Boondocks. Truly dope song by two of rap’s best veterans with a positive message and a soulful beat.

Police in Atlanta, Georgia are investigating the Grand Hustle offices owned by rapper T.I., after two Molotov Cocktails were found in front of the building that houses the label.

A SWAT team was called to the scene to remove the two explosives devices , while ATF agents are interviewing witnesses in an attempt to identify a suspect.

Investigators are currently testing the Molotov Cocktails to determine what liquids were in the two bottles.

“One of the occupants came out early this morning to start his car up and noticed two suspicious bottles sitting on the front portion of the walkway,” Officer Otis Redmond told MyFox Atlanta 5.

Fresh off an appearance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, TV star Tameka “Tiny” Cottle recently gave an update of her husband’s current condition and the tragic violence that’s hit her inner circle.

Earlier this month, Tiny’s former Xscape bandmate and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burrus lost her fiancée Ashley “AJ” Jewell. His death was the result of injuries sustained in a fight at an Atlanta strip club.

Coupled with the brutal shooting death of former boxing champion Vernon Forrest in July, Cottle revealed that T.I. urges her to remain close to home to prevent becoming a target.

“I talk to him about a little of everything, just things going on. He hears things and we talk about it,” Tiny explained to AllHipHop.com. “He wants me to stay out the way, me being out of harm’s way. I know it’s a lot of crazy things going on so I try to stay in as much as possible because I don’t have him here. So I come out only when it’s necessary. I stay out the way. But he even said it was a terrible situation that AJ had to lose his life like that. Him not knowing the situation and what’s going on he really can’t speak on it.”

Lord have mercy. First we’ve dealt with the ladies who bared their kids on BET and now it looks like Weezy and Tip’s actual seeds are gettin’ their shine on too with a reality show revolving around their singing group.

According to Ace Showbiz, 10-year-old Reginae Carter and Tiny’s 11-year-old Zonnique Pullins are in a band called OMG Girls along with two offspring from a member of forgotten R&B group, Silk. Backed by Ish Entertainment (the company that did T.I.’s Road To Redemption), I’m sure they’ll be securing a deal soon. Hey, guess it’s a family affair. Don’t invite Joe Jackson.
