New music video from Raekwon titled “Butter Knives” off his latest album release “Shaolin VS. Wu-Tang.” The video was originally scheduled to drop on Wednesday but The Chef took to his twitter page and made the announcement that we would be getting it a day early.

Less than 24 hours after Raekwon confirmed that the track was in the works, Kanye West tweeted early this morning that his remix of Justin Bieber’s “Runaway Love” featuring the Wu-Tang rapper was almost finished.

What your back RZA!  In an attempt to lure younger followers, the Buddist Monks in Japan are (HUAH!!!) grabbing mics and (BAM!!) spreading the good word via (HYAAAAAH!!!) rhymes.

When we asked Wu-Tang’s Rza as to whether he saw this a direct challenge to his 36 Chamber philosophy, he promptly replied “Bong!”

No word yet as to whether any of the monks will appear on the upcoming Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon the Chef album due in 2010

When Raekwon, Ghostface, and Method Man announced they were going to be the BBD to Wu-Tang’s New Edition, expectations were understandably high.

Fortunately they have yet to disappoint.  Here’s a song that may or may not be on their forthcoming album. Using a hefty chunk of one of my personal favorite pre-Off The Wall Michael Jackson solo tracks, Rae, Ghost, and Meth deliver the goods!

On December 19th, Wu-Tang affiliate M-Eighty broke the Guinness world record for longest freestyle by spitting for 9 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds.  The previous record of 8 hours and 45 minutes was set several years ago by Canadian emcee D.O.

M-Eighty spoke on his record breaking accomplishment afterwards:

“Today was an amazing feat and a marvelous accomplishment for myself as an artist and as a person. Right here, right now I have something that no one can take away from me or try to discredit.  I thank my many hip-hop inspirations and those who attended today’s event for allowing me to conquer this goal. I feel like I have finally done something that even the people who hate me have no choice but to respect and congratulate and that is a rare and good feeling.”

Two guys who kinda-sorta-sometimes perform with the Wu-Tang Clan rap group have been arrested in Arkansas … on a tour bus that cops say was “filled” with marijuana smoke.

Ronald Bean (left) and Patrick Charles (right), aka DJ Mathematics and Streetlife, respectively, were busted last night after a routine traffic stop turned into a scene from “How High.”

According to the police report, the officers opened the bus door and “could immediately smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the bus … the bus was filled with smoke and the odor of marijuana.”

The cops claim when they went onto the bus, they noticed “marijuana blunts and residue were laying in plain sight.” Cops also claim they found 110 ecstasy tablets hidden inside a can and $8615 in cash.

In total, 8 men, including Math and Street, were arrested on suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell — the bus driver was released with a speeding citation.

A&R and Hip Hop tastemaker, Dante Ross recently revealed a story about a collaboration between Old Dirty Bastard and LL Cool J that resulted in a gun stand off and Dirty pissing on LL’s platinum plaque.

RZA writes in the book that he once witnessed ODB force his own son to watch him do drugs. RZA tried to leave, he writes, but ODB wouldn’t let him. Now, RZA told CNN, he wishes he would’ve been tougher with ODB about his drug problem.

Method Man, the group’s most recognizable voice, was nearly killed before the band formed, Wu-Tang’s chief producer, RZA, writes in his forthcoming memoir.
Meth was walking to buy marijuana at 160 Park Hill Avenue in Staten Island — the house in Wu-Tang’s “Protect Ya Neck” video — when RZA saw him across the street, he writes in the book.
“Come over here, yo!” RZA beckoned, according to “The Tao of Wu” (Riverhead). “He stopped and came running over. A few seconds later — pow-pow-pow-pow-pow! — a guy started shooting up the front of 160. A buddy of ours, Poppy, an innocent, school-going, nice guy — he was shot and killed right there.”

Eyewitness Mickey Factz is providing his insight on the Joe Budden/Raekwon altercation.

Factz, who was present during the alteraction which resulted in Budden being punched in the face, began by saying Raekwon initially showed no signs of aggression upon entering the room where Budden was.

“Rae came in on some peaceful shit at first. He dapped everybody, he dapped Joe,” described Factz. “But then everything changed. He wanted to talk about the video he seen me in with Joe Budden”

The video to which Factz referred was recorded weeks ago at a Rock The Bells tour stop in Boston. In the video, Budden offered apologies to Method Man, but made it clear that he would respond if any further disses by members of the Wu-Tang Clan [click to listen] were made. A day after the video was recorded, Budden and Meth squashed the beef.

Despite this, Factz says, Raekwon wasn’t having it. “I didn’t see the punch, but I heard it…Rae was just in another zone, like ‘yo this is what happened, I know what happened,’” Factz explained. “To be real, that was a bad move. I’m not a street dude, but if it would’ve went down we would’ve had to fight. We were not going to win, but I’m looking at Joe if it has to go down, it has to go down. I stayed, I didn’t leave. Rae told me it didn’t have anything to do with me.”

“But at the end of the day I have no problems with Wu-Tang Clan. I’m looking Rae in his eyes and telling him the video happened the day before [they squashed it]. Rae didn’t swing. I didn’t see the punch, but it apparently hit Joe in the eye and also the shoulder…If somebody come at you, you have to defend yourself, whether it’s Raekwon, Jay-Z, Nas, niggas we listen to.”

Factz also made it clear that he was disappointed that Raekwon or a member of his crew would assault another emcee in that manner.

“One of the six dudes did punch Joe, it was 6 vs. 2. Without me it would’ve been 6 vs. 1. I think it was a sucker move. It looked like Joe barely felt it. [But] shit is crazy. Raekwon has the footage…Joe didn’t swing back, and no they didn’t laugh after the punch. Joe and Rae were going back and forth talking like men. How you going to have your man punch him and now you want to talk? And then you have the camera on? C’mon Rae. Once again I love Wu.”

Budden was streaming live from Rock The Bells backstage in LA when Rae & five of his people walked in (one with a camera for IceWaterTV.) The stream was disconnected and then someone (not Rae) punched Budden in the eye.

Joey says there won’t be any diss tracks.
