In addition, when kids are born from such unions, it not only compounds the situation, but now your kids get to witness your dysfunction. Not all victims make the wrong choice. Before my ex and I got married he was sweet, kind and never put his hands on me. When I took his last name all that mess changed. I was the perfect girlfriend. I got off work at 12 at night and had to sit up with our oldest child when she heard me come in the house. Not to mention that I got up in the morning while I was pregnant with our second child and cooked his breakfast. Plus I made sure his lunch was cooked when he came home for lunch!!!!! I worked. I came home to him and our kids. He would get up on the days he didn’t work and be gone all day and never say one word to wear he was going. But when I wanted to hangout with my girlfriends he would ride by their house to see what I was doing. Sitting on the porch or in the driveway just talking. I never cheated on him. So please tell me what in heck did I do to deserve for him to put his hands on me?????? NOT A DAMN THING!!!!!!! I left him and went back. Then I left again and never went back. I will not put up with that ish ever again. I make dang sure I tell any man I will eff you if you ever put your hands on me. It goes for my daughters too. I don’t mind putting that out there. It’s not right and I don’t condone that ish at all.

I have always loved her voice and loved her singing. I will not judge her, I have not walked in her shoes. Being in fear will make one do things that you never thought that you would do. but on a serious note, keke you are talented, i did buy your first album (it was on sale) and i liked your single, you have fans that have your back so do your thing!

This is why women need to develop high self-esteem and REALLY know who they are and how a good relationship works before entering one. It starts when they are young girls and should have positive role models to look up to. This is also why I am a strong advocate of relationship counseling and conflict resolution. Women and men should be taught that physical fighting and non-physical abuse are NOT okay, that there are other ways to resolve a conflict. Moreover, we need to learn how to look for red-flags in people.

I myself met a couple of men whom I stopped communicating with (very early into our dating period) because of the way they handled their stress, or a “bad day” (as one called it). One guy tried to pick a verbal argument with me simply because he needed a place to land his anger. I already had my suspicions about him based on the type of language he used (not toward me, but in general), and this argument he tried to intiate was the first and ONLY one. I simply told him that I refused to be scapegoated for his problems and told him never to call me anymore. I don’t wait around for someone to abuse me because someone CAN end up dead or in the hospital. I am not going to waste my time emeshed in that type of drama. I keep it moving. That is what KeKe should have done.

I am a black male, I know the Wyatt family personally. The mother is a friend of mine. During the time I have known them I have been treated with respect and I admire the family. I just hate that all this attention has given some people negative light about the family. I know that a lot has been blown out of shape and comments misinturpertated. After the dust settles, the family will get on with their lives and KeKe will be doing her thing, belting out those great tunes.

Sigh…I don’t know what to say. Well let me start by saying I was a fan of KeKe’s when I first heard her voice on Avant’s album. I bought her first CD the day it came out and love it still. I was severly disappointed with the infamous Essence article, however. She came off so arrogant! And I’m not even going to go into the racist stuff. The entire article turned me off big time! Now I’m looking at this to try to give her another chance and what does she say….I got my deal and had the record in a couple days(or something to that effect). ARROGANT! Who is her publicist or does she have one? She REALLY needs one so she can understand that likeability is extremely important in this industry. Beautiful girl (and I’m sure she knows it) awesome voice but I’m not feeling her anymore. This album has to be GREAT like Beyonce’s first solo album great for me to pick it up. Advice…and it sounds like I’m judging but I’m not…eat a slice or two of some humble pie KeKe.

If you haven’t been down that rode don’t judge Keke. Spouse abuse is real. there are many reasons why some women stay in an abusive relationship mostly out of fear, or trying to find a way to get away and make it on your own and feel safe. Sometimes you have to find a safe place for you and your children especially when you are in the public eye you will be an easy target to spot, and turned in to that abusive husband or boyfriend. We are human we make mistakes when we get with these abusive men but we learn from our mistakes. When you feel like its my life or his you do what you have to do to get away. learn from your mistake and try to never get in that situation ever again. Yes I been down that road beaten in the face because my husband didn’t want other men to look at me, locked in the house with no phone, no access to another human-bean, not my family or children. But that one day came and I found my freedom by taking back what belong to me which is my life by any means necessary. I learned from my mistake and TRUST ME I will never go down that road again. I bet my ex will think twice before he put the fingers I allowed him to keep on any women again. Now he is in jail holding on to someones pocket.

Keke!!! I had a very abusive husband that fought me,took any communication device from me also to keep from calling the police. I fought that man for about 8 years until I said “No, more”. Because, one of us was going to get seriously hurt. I understand totally that you were backed up in a corner with a deranged man coming at you. I have been there and had to fight my way out. No one can judge you until they have experienced this type of abuse. I appauld you for being strong and keep on keeping on. I wish you the best.

The bottom line is that she got out of the situation. Now she can go on with her life and forget the lowlife she left behind.

My mother been in an abusive relationship with LAURITZ JR. ACOY not my father. If it wasn’t for her college classmates to pray over her and talk to her into getting help, we would have suffered disasterous consequences, cause at one point when he was beating her I picked up the kitchen chair to hit him with it. He left, not until she gathered us kids together and headed over to the court house for an order of protection. I still remember the look of shock on his face when mother came back with the polices to put him out. That was the start of our new life. If only Keke has left the first time he hit her, life for her would be far more beautful then it is now. If a man hit you, it a red flag for you to start packaging your bags and leaving. Our first two years without having the abuser yelling curses and hiting my mother or my brother was like a breathe of fresh air. Learns from this Keke. God bless.
