Whats odd about this I’m messing with a girl who falls in this category and it bothers me. She a smart college educated woman but only watches BS tv shows like real housewives and black movies(Tyler Perry). She has very good qualities but her understanding of different genres is severely stunted. Its just my opinion but this worries me because I think art imitates life….meaning Im afraid her world view is extremely narrow and while she is intelligent she not very worldly and that is the complete opposite of my likes. These movies are much better than Next Friday, Barbershop, and the Tyler Perry movies. The movies they listed were obviously released within the last ten years. Those that others here are suggesting were from the 1990s, the VHS era. But anyway, I’ve seen Superbad, 40 Year Old Virgin, and the Hangover, and I have to agree, they are funny as hell. If blacks would start releasing movies like Life again, black comedy will be worth watching again.

‘The 40 Year Old Virgin’ is HILARIOUS. I haven’t really ‘felt’ any other Apatow movies but his debut is funny. So many funny scenes…the poker game, Romany Malco’s fight with the crazy-ass Pakistani Brooklynite (“Do you see a f***kin’ turban? I’m from Brooklyn, this is a BROOKLYN accent!”).

Props to the girl who shouted out ‘Death To Smoochy’. Being a love of satire (and especially after parenthood) that makes me LAUGH (“this is f***kin’ safari!”).

Though they’re not comedies per say I love Judd Nelson and Michael Anthony Hall in “The Breakfast Club” (“Is your father Mr Rogers?”, “No, Mr. Johnson”). Satires like “Heathers” are brilliant. “Beetlejuice” is funny as well.

About half of these movies aren’t that funny.

Now where is the top ten list of black movies that white people like? There is none. Black people ALWAYS support what is defined as good white films but the number of whites that support good black films is little to known. We have been so conditioned to think everything they do, including themselves is better than us. Like someone pointed out, most of these movies weren’t even that funny and they left out some classis.

What was the point of this article? I found it to be stereotypical and insulting. I don’t like pretty much any of those movies up there aside from ‘The Forty Year Old Virgin’. Will Ferrell tries too hard to be funny in my opinion an so do the Rogan brothers. On the other hand I love Steve Carell and Ben Stiller. Their comedic deliveries come across smoother and more natural than the others listed above. Anyway, if I were to feed into this stereotype, why didn’t they put ‘There’s Something About Mary’ up there? Hillarious.

Forrest Gump wasn’t a comedy. There were some funny scenes but it does not fall into the comedy genre. They dealt with several dark issues in that movie.

The only ones that were funny was the hangover, superbad, and 40 year old virgin they forgot a lot more couple adam sandler movies and half baked, but the rest on that list was alright to horrible tryin 2 be funny

Stripes, Blazing Saddles, Monty Python and The Holy Grail,History of the World Part 1 was also funny. And too many classics to name!

Most movies are WHITE movies. If you want to make a list, THE JERK (1979) with Steve Martin is that White Movie that Blacks loved. Hell, EPMD referred it and made the Steve Martin dance because they loved the movie.

But that #amn “The Hangover” is hitting like Tiger at a Skanky WaffleHouse.

Not better than Blazing Saddles or Animal House but close.

Anything with Will Ferrell in it is hilarious!! I liked KICK ASS…..and SUPER BAD…but nobody can deny that ANIMAL HOUSE is a classic…..
