Animal rights group PETA released a statement regarding the death of a fly at the hands of President Barack Obama – a murder that was captured on tape during an interview Tuesday with CNBC’s John Harwood.

The president was in the midst of discussing the country’s financial woes when the fly – which had been buzzing around the room earlier – suddenly took a liking to Obama. When it got on his last nerve, he waited for it to land on the back of his left hand.

And that’s where it came in contact with Obama’s right hand.

Nice!” said Harwood.

Now, where were we?” Obama asked immediately following the fatality.

That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it? I got the sucker,” said Obama, before using his foot to try and slide the carcass off to the side.

As it lay dead on the rug, the president encouraged CNBC cameras to zoom in and get a shot of his work.

According to TMZ, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals had this to say about the whole thing: He isn’t the Buddha, he’s a human being and human beings have a long way to go before they think before they act.”
