5 Awkward Soul Train Awards Moments

Every awards show has those awkward moments that make DVR and TiVO the best things ever invented. But best believe that any award show on BET is going to have some doozies.

Did you see…

5) Sean Paul getting his award on the Red Carpet? I felt bad for him. It was like being adopted and meeting your birth mother for the first time in a strip club.

4) Beyonce’s pre-recorded, via-satellite acceptance speech? Was she afraid Kanye was gonna interrupt her or something ? (yeah, yeah we know Bey was on tour but we know she has some femme-bot clones she coulda sent in her place.)

3) Jazmine Sullivan losing Best New Artist to Keri Hilson? No hate on Keri Hilson but I think Jazmine should have won that one hands down. Especially since “Bust Your Windows” is the new Tiger Woods theme song.

2) Melle Mel posing on stage with Chaka Khan? “Feel For You” is a classic song but watching him vogue with no shirt on was comedy.

1)Trey Songz and Tony Braxton kiss? Terrence Howard tongue down Taraji Henson and THEN  introduce the head of the network, Debra Lee? She must have been thinking “dammit ya’ll, did you have to that RIGHT NOW? I’m trying to be taken seriously.” So much for BET Uncut.

    the most akward moment was when charlie wilson did his acceptance speech and thanked VH1 and paused then remembered it was BET awards!! dumb azz uncle charlie!!!

    LOL@cremedelachocolat i seen dat s**t too…how u thank vh1 before u thank the ppl giving u the award….hahahahahaha but vh1 had something to do with the award show tho…and a lot of things about the show was akwards really…DUECES****

    that kissing thing is getting tired now…lets lead and not follow…keep it in the bedroom or on screen…i have a better chance at changing channels…not when i want to watch a show and its being done …where is my choice

    I enjoyed some of the gimmicks but they should have handed out more than 4 or 5 awards. After all it’s an award show! It was semi-tacky but I REALLY enjoyed the old school music/Motown!

    I just KNEW somebody was going to say something about K-Ci’s mosquito looking ass! I was a little sick over the weekend and after watching K-ci, he sent me into a coughing attack like FOR REAL! It’s like he blacked out for a minute and thought he was on stage with Jodeci.K-Ci is officially up there with Aaron Hall! I just knew he was about to belt out “TAKE MY MONEY(boom boom)MY HOUSE AND MY CARS……”LOLOLOLOLOL AHH,LAUGHTER IS TRULY GOOD FOR THE SOUL!!!

    What’s awkward about Beyonce giving a pre-recorded speech? If she’s on tour at least she thought far enough ahead to give one. Why would she send a clone? That would be awkward and the media would jump all over it. As for Keri Hilson winning, I thought she was great. Jazmin is cool too and they both deserved to win but only one can. Sounds more like a personal problem you have. Stupid article, Jerry.

    These aren’t really awkward moments and i must admit, Jazmin Sullivan could have taken home the best new artist, but she hasn’t had any new music in about a year or so, so… and the tiger woods thing happened after the soul train awards, this was a weird list, anyway!
