The tribute to Michael Jackson was simply heart touching. He was a part of all of our lives and will be greatly missed. I’m proud of BET for doing this for him especially since it had to be done at the last minute. Tonights show was the BEST award show ever. God Bless The Jackson Family.

i seriously can’t stand BET i can’t stand the music that comes out now a days and how people act….i like how they paid tribute to MJ but its ashame how when Mary Mary performed people were sitting down but when soulja boy or whoever else performed everyone was up singing the silly song….lil wayne and whoever’s song that is when they are talking about having sex with all the girls in the world i mean seriously your going to perform that song while your daughter is watching you what kind of parent are you?!? Oh Lord yes!!!! the tributes to MJ were so nice, I loved those parts…I do agree with about some of those other songs though. I do like lil Wayne & Drake & the others and if you want those kinda songs on your album fine!!! but to perform those song at this kind of even(a family event!!!!) is not cute at all…BET should pick out the song for them…& what is the freaking point of performing your song when they gotta beep, beep, beep out every other word in your verse???! that’s a mess :( My children were asleep but if they were not, there’s NO way there were gonna be watching that show…..anyways!!! I will never forget the day I heard about Michael passing away. The weird part was I was watching about Farah F. passing and there was a news break into that story about Michael being rushed to the hospial, My first thought was “No this can’t mean he’s going to die”,then word spread that he was in a coma, then that he passed away. I watched the M.T.V. honor that did all night. And the next day I was praying it was just a bad dream. But it wasn’t. He may be gone but his music will live on. I remember when i was 3 And the video Thriller came on tv, I was sooo scared to watch it,lol. I thought it was real..lol. now I love watching it as well as listing to the song!

I CAME OF AGE WITH, AND WATCHING MIKE AND HIS BROTHERS,WORDS CANT EXPRESS THE GREAT LOSS THAT IS FELT THE WORLD OVER,BUT HE WILL LIVE ON,HE WAS THAT ONE!,THAT ONCE IN A LIFE TIME ONE,HE WAS THE KING OF POP!!,HE WILL BE MISSED.AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED…

I still feel like he’s gonna announce he’s joking and he’s gonna moonwalk across my tv screen some time soon! Janet’s speech touched my heart. I had to cry over that one. It was THE best part of the BET awards…since the rest of it sucked! Janet was a nice contrast to Michael’s father…who felt absolutely NOTHING towards the death of his son.

I saw her last night and her pain was soooo thick. She maintained as best she could. I couldn’t help but turn around and leave the room when she left the stage. It was very very touching and sad. She has always been my favorite. We were born two days apart. She is really a good girl and a great performer. Hang in there Janet.

Lyricistlillie07, I agree. First, I don’t have cable anymore. I have not had it in 3 years. However, I was at my sister’s and we looked at the BET awards. Some of those “performances” should have been SCRAPPED. I would have rather seen Chris Brown than that mess of a “performance” by Lil’Wayne, Drake and Birdman. It was as though they literally sucked the energy out of the room.

However, I have to say that Mary Mary didn’t deserve anyone to stand for them. It was an awards show for secular music and they fit right in there with them. That song is NOT about God, the creator. Pay attention to the lyrics, they are celebrating materialism. I know that chorus is saying “It is the god in me.” Listen to the words intently. The bible warns about mixing what is Holy with that which is profane. It is not supposed to be done.

What is sad is that they (secular artists and people in attendance) seemed to “know” it but “christians” have such limited discernment that they don’t even see it. That was NOT the atmosphere to glory God, The Creator. It was a tribute to Michael Jackson which was a nice gesture.

Oh, and they did a terrible job bleeping the invective language in that atrocious “performance” with Drake, Lil’Wayne and thangs. LOL That mess was horrible and just down right inappropriate. The mics should have been turned off.

And what is Lil’ Wayne going to tattoo next…the white part of his eyes. That is so tacky how he has just defiled his temple but then hearing the words that proceed out of his mouth, he has no respect for himself and is defiled.

He is in bondage to me. This friend of mine is interceding for him. She expressed that she just has been led to pray for him because so many kids “like” him and because of his influence on children.

I hope she knows she is dealing with a Moabite and Ammonite spirit.

I have to say that after hearing MJ music on Friday as I drove home, I realized just how low the bar has been lower (heck I am not sure if the bar is even there) in the music industry. 95% of what we are hearing on the radio is GARBAGE.

The saddest thing is this mess is also present in “gospel” music too. These artists are more about being “stars” than glorifying God.

And WHY is last night the FIRST time I have ever heard about Michael Jackson being in the Guinness Book for the most giving celebrity/Humanitarian?!! Why hasn’t the media talked about this. That was the highlight for me last night. He really used his celebrity to help many people.
