“Do you like fish sticks?”
During a one-sided comedy writing session in a recent episode of South Park Jimmy and Cartman (uh…not so much) come up with a joke about fish sticks, which catches on and spreads across the country to become the “funniest, most awesome joke ever”. Apparently, everybody that hears the joke gets it except Kanye West, who completely misses the punchline when he’s called a “gay fish” and then furiously goes on a tirade to prove that he is neither gay nor a fish. Towards the end, the self-proclaimed “genius voice of a generation” gets gangsta with his suspect crew of colorful fashionistos when they try and find the people responsible for the fish stick joke. Classic.
UPDATE: Kanye responded via his blog to his being parodied on South Park. It seems the cartoon was a huge slice of humble pie for the Chi-Town rapper. He wrote that even though the episode did hurt his feelings he has been working on his ego as of late. Why do rappers write in all caps when they blog?
Kanye’s unedited response:
“ SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” IT’S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU’RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE.
