There is no replacement to the Oprah show none of the shows on the air now can feel those shoes .

I think Tyra in the future will be a good contender for a future Oprah replacement. HOWEVER, Oprah is starting her own TV Network, channel, and therefore I’m sure her audience will follow! She bought to blow the rough off. She is honestly a real, true, Black self-made Queen.

I’m going to miss Oprah. I just started getting into her shows. She’s irreplaceable. I appreciate all her hard work she put in in Africa. Well, more people will be watching more Tyra now. I slept on the Monique show at first but she keeps it entertaining, she just caters mostly to the black community(which I love and we need that), and I hope her show gets bigger. I like Wendy but honestly her busted wigs and big mouth gossiping isnt going to take her far.

I didn’t really watch Oprah that much because I’m at work when her show comes on…I do believe that after 25 years most talk shows have pretty much run their course and the host of the show should move on to something else…and like Oprah leave while you’re still on the top.

I don’t know what to say. I think that Oprah has done a lot in her career. I didn’t care for the structure of the show but you can’t deny that she is motivation for the African American community. Whether you love her or hate her, you can’t take away the fact that she made us look like we could definitely excel in America. No matter what she is a legend, an icon, an example for black women to follow.

This is wonderful for her to do. All she is doing is moving to bigger and better things, plus helping others to follow. Now, for all that say she adheres more to the white population is sadly mistaken. She has done more for blacks then most would consider. She does not boast and brag about what all she does it in order to satisfy the black community and I applaud her for that. However, she is a humanitarian meaning she does not have to seclude herself to helping blacks only and again I applaud her on that. I do not see anyone else that has opened a school and attempting to help young women to grow mentally and emotionally to become a strong black woman. It is sad that a prominent sista is before us and of course her own people would be the ones to shoot her down, but then would be the first ones taking a gift from her if she offered. Give her, her flowers while she leaves. God Bless, her and her future endeavors to come. To God Be The Glory.

@ MoniQTee…she usually prescreens ppl for those give away shows. It isn’t just “oh I got lucky and happened to go the the show that she gave stuff away on”. Just like when she gave away the cars…the people in the audience were pre-chosen to be there. I’m still trying to figure out when did the memo go out letting ppl know they could try to get a free car from her.

Like they say…Oprah gives cars, home appliances, her fav products to white people and what does she give blacks…KFC coupons for a free chicken!(and i still didnt benefit…I dont eat fried or “grilled” chicken from KFC, Popeye’s, or in general, so she did me absolutely no good) THANKS OPRAH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!

As far as helping black people comment…yeah, if you live in Africa. True enough those people need help, but so do blacks right here in her own country. I’m not saying she never does anything but the things she’s known for doing most…I can’t see how they’ve directly help the African AMERICAN community in her own country.

Yeah..she’s a trailblazer and has accomplished things that others haven’t and that’s something that can never be taken away from her but yeah…I definately feel some kind of way regarding her hipocracy on many different levels…from her view of rappers to her so called “battered women’s activisim” she showed by not allowing Chris Brown on her show because of what he did, yet taping two episodes of her show with Bebe Winans who is facing, and has faced before, accusations and charges of hitting his wife. It was only AFTER angry viewers found out and emailed her that she decided not to air the episodes with Bebe until “the matter could be settled in court”. Yet even AFTER the “matter” was settled in court between Chris and Rhianna…she still had issues and didnt want him on her show unless she’d be able to blast him…she didnt blast Bebe about his pending charges…Come on Oprah…be consistant.

I have always admired Oprah Winfrey for the example of excellence that she set for all African American women. Her show has been on the air for a very long time. I actually remember when the Oprah Winfrey show made it’s debut in the mid 80′s! I have watched many other talk shows come and go but not Oprah! I honestly do not believe that anyone will be able to fill her shoes, but she knows what’s right for her so I wish her well. I know that a round the 20th year mark she was considering retiring the show ,but decided against it, because she really was not 100% ready to let it go,but she said that this feels right. I know that she probably has other things that she’d like to pursue, so again I am sorry to see her go but wish her well.

I pray that she changes her mind. The Oprah show has really helped to open many many doors to all the races in America. She has proven that black America can make it if they are persistent and focus on what they really want to do in and with their lives. She helped to give our black America a voice. Even though her audiences may have been predom. white and other, it does not matter. The whole concept was that a Black sister made it in our country which has not always and still will not be fare to our black and other interracial children coming up in America. we should all be proud that she unlike a lot of other talk show host, etc. have not had the power or backing to do.
I pray again that she changes her mind. She represents ME as a black woman about to rise up in the media soon.
What about all of her staff(who were of all nationalities) jobs? I foresee a lot of unemployed media reps, film makers, video staff, food auxil., transportation staff, assistants, managers, editors, etc. out on the unemployment line if she retires this show.
