Prince: “I Was Born Epileptic”

Prince announced Monday night on PBS’ “Tavis Smiley” show that he was born with epilepsy.

“I’ve never spoken about this before, but I was born epileptic, and I used to have seizures when I was young,” he told Smiley. “My mother and father didn’t know what to do or how to handle it but they did the best they could with what little they had.”

Prince continued, telling Smiley about how grateful he is today as he looks back on his emotional childhood:

    My Boy!!!…Prince is my absolute favorite artist of all time, hands down!…I used 2 have seizures as a kid to..lol..other than lovin women 2 death, I knew we had somethin n common, lol

    I admire how as Prince has gotten older he has really taken a different mature road and approach towards life. How many artist will be able to say that 10, 20, 30 years into their career!!!! Prince is truly a real rockstar!

    Wonderful just wonderful. The older he gets the better and wiser he is. You are so handsome.

    I wish the same for MJ but it’s to late for him. The older he gets the stranger he gets and the worst he looks.

    gifted, spiritually, beautiful
    on the inside as well as the
    outside. Simply put you are
    the reason why I love music so
    damn!!! much you are my heart I love you so much didn’t
    have to open up your heart
    the way you did, we needed
    to hear your voice, you are
    a legend, a leader, and a
    down home sweet heart. I
    learned so much about the
    industry and, the way people
    continue to rip artist off
    of their monies, and, royalties. Take care I hope
    to someday meet you that
    interview really made my year.
