Mslovelydivah, I beg to differ. Now. Does the word say that we shouldn’t judge at all or does it say that we should judge righteous judgement( John 7:24). If it does tell us to “judge righteous judgement”, what does this mean as it’s taken in the CONTEXT of the Word? When JESUS, spoke that we shouldn’t judge but we should judge righteous judgement, the context was that we shouldn’t judge people according to appearance (the way the look, the way their clothes are kept,etc). When he goes on to say “but judge righteous judement”, the context means that we should judge things according to the evidence of fruit produced. For example…When you see a woman on a corner selling herself to men on a daily basis, you call that woman a PROSTITUTE, correct? Well, you calling her a prostitute, is judgement but righteously so, because her actions line up with the definition of what a prostitute is. Do you understand?
The problem with people saying “You shouldn’t judge” is that people use this as to say “I can do what I want and people shouldn’t say anything negative about my lifestyle no matter what!”. Well, my “christian friend”, since you say you are a Christian, this does not line up with God’s word!
Now. I am really tired of the church praising secular artist just because they say “GOD” one or two times. Yes. He says he thanks God, but what does his lifestly show?! You being a christian woman, should understand that too. Does he have any desire to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and live right? It was some awards show for some magazine for southern rappers (kinda like Source Awards). Completely ghetto beyond words. 98% of what coming out these rappers/hood models’ mouths was bleeped out. Then I remember at the end of the awards show David Banner closed out by saying something “Let’s give grace to God for making this possible”. I was kinda shocked when they did that and what would give these rappers reason to give grace to God.

However, since seeing this video of what I believe has to be the first rapper (not counting Mase or MC Hammer) to openly come out and acknowledge his relationship with God and trials/tribulations and choices we make in our lives, I give Rick Ross big props for doing what he did.

So while we must judge one’s behavior we must we try to nurture the goodness in an individual: to separate the deed from the doer. Please understand what that scripture means before speaking it. Rick Ross could or not be a christian. Judge by his fruits…does he produce good fruits (fruits: lyrics, gestures, acts) or bad. Do they glorify Jesus or not?? This is how one must understand who is of God and who isnt. Many shall say Lord Lord, and Jesus say “I know you not,” or He will say, “Well done my good and FAITHFUL servant.”
