“It’s sad when your peak was a moonwalk that occurred ages ago.”

While I understand what Bill was trying to get at in his new rules segment, using Michael Jackson to get points across was a bad idea. Fox News has some of the worst news personalities, yet people keep watching it. The best way to hurt a network is to stop watching it.

I’m just glad to find out who Bill Maher is, a jack-a$$.

  • 7-21-2009 8:08 am

I heard this from a movie long time ago. “You got to bring ass to get ass.” Bill in order to talk about someone’s legacy, you have to have one. If you got to a buffet and sit at the table with and empty plate, guess what. That’s just what you’ll be eating, is an empty plate.

If you laughed about MJ before he died, then yeah you’ll laugh after. Some of us DIDN’T laugh though at shi* like that.

Some of us didn’t like any of Lay Leno’s or Kat Williams jokes about MJ when he was alive either. And you don’t have to be a hardcore fan for that. You just need a heat, and the ability to relate to someone.

No one thinks MJ is lodrly, but what people in America don’t get is that MJ was NOT just an American Icon. He was a friggin’ World icon, and that’s why the outcry was so large and echoed for so long. The US accounts for 8% of the worlds population. Think about it for a sec. All of his fans aren’t in the US. Look at how he died, and look at what he was preparing to embark upon in just one more months time. Then, look at what he’s done.

People still trip off Elvis – a perosn who pretty much stole his material from us. Damn right they’ll be sad about MJ.

Bill is a dork. A peak in general is mid career. That’s why it’s called a peak. Also why he’s a sorry comedian.

Bill Maher wishes that he can PEAK at all…or maybe his peak was when he was screwing Supa head! Show some respect for the dead!!! I’m takin’ up for Mike…screw y’all and Bill Maher…we don’t have solidarity anyway so I shoudn’t expect any more….blindness.

i watch his show every friday on hbo, and when i got done laughing i thought to myself i bet it will be on Bp. MJ wasnt perfect and its nothing wrong with stating that. I bet yall still laughed at Kat Willams jokes about mike before he died right??? so why stop laughing when he dies. Im a big Mj fan but he is not god, so stop treating him like one, just because he died, because you didnt when he was alive

Maybe I dont have a heart…but I doubt thats why I feel the way I do abt what I have to say. MJ was not God. Ppl are losing their mind as if they just had lunch with him last week. Yes, Michael was more than an amazing entertainer…the best of our time. But life goes on and ppl talk. I can honestly say I was more moved with Luther died.

    Well put CMoore

  • 7-20-2009 10:08 pm

And if he did? What did Michael do to his own legacy? I found the commentary entertaining. Bill is a butthole and I expect nothing less.

Just like Quincy Jones’ interview that was posted here. He “KNEW” Michael and had a relationship with him. I can’t discount what Mr. Jones said. The truth stands alone.

I pray for the Jackson family but the coverage was a bit much and I will tell anybody MJ was a great entertainer. I realized how terrible the music is today from Beyonce’ to Soulja Boy….GARBAGE. NO CREATIVITY, NO ORIGINALITY…just booty shaking, partial nudity and stupid dances. ZERO social consciousness, no substance or real meaning to music.

RIP Michael but this is still America and FREE SPEECH is a right. Katt Williams jokes were funny to me. I am not going to front now like what he said was not funny…I laughed.

At some point we need to be mindful of the legacy we leave behind. It is our legacy. Forget what other feel about you and find out what you think and feel about you. People will ALWAYS have something to say.

the moonwalk comment was definitely connected but some of what bill maher said about michael jackson rejecting his “blackness” and then becoming a black icon in death being hypocritical is mostly true.
i really don’t wanna see any posters or t-shirts with mj along with mlk and malcolm x. mj should be regarded as one of the greatest entertainers ever first & foremost!

I strongly believe the “Moon Walk” comment was strategically referring to MJ and Niel Armstrong. It makes sense considering he intertwined both topics from the gitgo hoping to get a laugh. I don’t think it was funny. He talks down about the king of Pop not even two weeks after his death are you kidding me?? Typical.

For the record… I told the Michael Jackson / Pepsi Jokes when I was a kid, but as a grown man from the age 21 (1995) til now, Michael Jackson jokes were always wack to me, I started to detach initially from the allegations about the kids, but then came back to Michael.

I started to believe Katt Williams stand up about Michael but I came back to my senses again, this is the same world that accuses me of crimes I haven’t done and the same world of people that call me crazy!

LONG LIVE THE TRUE KING OF MUSIC MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON!!!!!!!!!!

  • 7-20-2009 6:52 pm

I was just as distraught as any body when MJ died…but that s**t right there was funny….Bill Maher always tells it how it is…and if Michael was still alive and Bill said them jokes, nobody would have been offended…

  • 7-20-2009 6:38 pm

TO BE HONEST…Y’ALL WEST COAST AND NEW YORK DUDES…WHEN YOU SEE THESE WHITE PEOPLE WALKING IN THE STREETS…THE ONES WHO HAVE BEEN TALKING BAD ABT MJ….SMACK THESE MUTHERF**KERS IN THE FACE 1 TIME FOR ME PLEASE….THEY JUST BE ON TV DISRESPECTING BLACK FOLK LIKE IT’S NO PROBLEM…TIME’S UP!

  • 7-20-2009 6:29 pm

It was insulting (with hints of truth), but I’ve read worst by BlackPlanet members when Michael Jackson initially died.

  • 7-20-2009 5:47 pm

Michael’s death shut down the music industry. His albums were in the top ten after his passing. You will hear how some artists were about to release an album but were afraid of poor sales. Michael is so huge that powers that be want to shut him down. My question is, “who in the %##$% is Bill Maher and has he ever been to Detroit”?

  • 7-20-2009 4:21 pm

we jus cant forget that the best entertainer to have ever lived was accused by ALOT of young kids of some nasty s**t. like 3 of em said mike sucked them off. how can we tell all these kids they liars. u know thats not right. jesus like.

  • 7-20-2009 4:18 pm

The white lady joke is played out and I’m tired of it, but the rest of what he said about the people around King Michael had around him is very true!

And what he said about this country was all the way on point.

BUT BILL MAHER IS DEAD WRONG ABOUT KING MICHAELS PEAK… WHEN KING MICHAEL JACKSON PEAKED, HE STAYED UP THERE!
