Barry Bonds Perjury Trial Begins
Almost eight years after testifying that he never took steroids or accepted human growth hormone, home-run king Barry Bonds goes on trial for perjury. In 2003 the former San Francisco Giant told a grand jury that he never knowingly took steroids but the government does not believe him. If convicted he faces five years in prison. Bonds personal trainer Greg Anderson is currently in jail for contempt of court after refusing to testify against Bonds.
