The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) recently spoke out about Lil’ B‘s recently announced album title, I’m Gay. During his recent Coachella performance, Lil’ B says the album title is meant to show that words don’t really matter.

A spokesperson for GLAAD tells XXL that they are supportive of the album title… to a point.

As a lyricist, Lil B knows that words matter. Slurs have the power to fuel intolerance. We hope that Lil B’s album title is not just a gimmick, and is really a sincere attempt to be an ally. He has the platform and the voice. We hope he uses it in a positive way.
