Usher was scheduled to perform at the annual pre-Grammys party Saturday night honoring his label head Clive Davis, but he canceled at the last minute due to a “serious family emergency,” reports Us Weekly.
Reps for the artist would not comment on the specific ailment, but Us Weekly’s source claims that Internet reports of Foster’s death are false. Access Hollywood does report, however, that Foster did suffer complications from a cosmetic procedure in Brazil.
Foster is in stable condition and Usher is with her at the hospital, according to the reps. No further details are being released.
Davis, president of Usher’s J Records label, announced that the entertainer and his mother phoned earlier to cancel his rehearsal and subsequent performance at the Beverly Hilton because of a “serious illness in the family.”
