Bono has revealed his teenage daughters were embarrassed about him being too boring when he had Jay-Z and Beyonce to stay.
The 48-year-old U2 frontman, wife Alison Hewson and daughters Jordan, 19, and Memphis Eve, 17, were joined at their St Tropez home last year by the R&B superstars – and Bono revealed on Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show that his daughters were worried about their guests being bored.
He said: “My daughters are just too very serious about their music. I do remember Eve, I went in to get some wine out of the fridge and I heard her talking to her friends, because she loved Jay-Z and Beyonce, and I heard her saying ‘he’s probably boring their a*** off talking about Africa.'”
Bono also revealed his daughters were shamed by his choice of music at the after-show party while on tour with Kings Of Leon.
He said: “There was a funny moment on the last tour when there was formal objections by our kids to some of the music that was being played at the after-show party because they love the Kings Of Leon, and they didn’t think that the Kings Of Leon would be into trance or some sort of spongy dub sound, they wanted some hard metal for the Kings to make them feel at home.”
“We’re like get out of here, if they sup at our table, them Kings Of Leon, they’re going to eat what we’re eating. No special diets.”
