Toni Braxton ran straight to her lawyers after learning that a concert promoter in the Republic of Suriname attempted to pass off an imposter as the real singer during a show over the weekend.

Trina Johnson, the fake Braxton who took the stage, claims her contract specifically stated she was hired to do an “imitation act” and was unaware concert-goers were led to think otherwise.

When fans found out the woman on stage was not the real deal, a mini riot broke out, complete with bottles being thrown at the stage and looting of the venue’s bars. Johnson had to be escorted from the area by security guards, according to Caribbean Net News.

Perhaps more upset than the duped fans is Toni Braxton herself, who is reportedly consulting with lawyers to file an official complaint against the promotions company for “victimizing” her fans, reports TMZ.com.
