The star wattage continued to shine brightly Friday night, as The Urbanworld Film Festival entered its second night. Director Mario Van Peebles, 50 Cent and Lynn Whitfield were on hand to promote their film “All Things Fall Apart.” 50 hit the red carpet with his own entourage of eye candy, posing for pics with the cast. Before the screening, Van Peebles assured the audience there would be no men in dresses or wigs in his movie.
Reality star Tami Roman was in attendance for the East Coast premiere of the short “The Tombs” which she produced with filmmaker Jerry LaMothe. Victor Rasuk and Luiz Guzman of HBO’s How to Make it in America were also present for a screening of their hit show.
Additional attendees included poet Sonia Sanchez (Sonia Sanchez: Shake Loose Memories), film pioneer Melvin Van Peebles, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, Stephen G. Hill (BET), reality star Tami Roman (producer of The Tombs), Jerry Lamothe (director of The Tombs), filmmaker Warrington Hudlin, The Sugar Hill Gang (I Want My Name Back), director Andrew Dosunmu (Restless City), writer/critic Toure, actors Khalil Kain and Stephen Hill, and many more.
