During a time when most black actors and actresses have found themselves out of jobs, Fred Mwangaguhunga, owner of MediaTakeOut.com, seeks to revolutionize the Internet by merging Television quality productions with the online network. In an effort to conquer the lack of opportunities available for black thespians, Fred has collaborated with Fisher Klingenstein Films to create a web TV development unit.

Secrets Of MediaTakeOut: Owner Shares All! [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

While MediaTakeOut.com is regarded as a gossip site, there is a real opportunity with their specific platform to transform the way we consume entertainment. “We’re looking to now expand our brand out of the blog mode and into an overall entertainment company. This is our first step into that direction; launching MediaTakeOut presents… ‘First Date.’ It is a produced reality show that’s made specifically for MediaTakeOut and to be played online to all viewers,” says Fred.

Fred, attorney and entrepreneur, assures me that the visuals to the web shows are nothing short of high quality. The production value is the most important factor for him it seems. “These are full on shows, these are shows that if they weren’t on MediaTakeOut they could be on Vh1, MTV, BET. They’re high quality HD produced shows. We didn’t cut corners; this isn’t like a guy with a camera running around shooting them. We have real people who have produced real shows,” he explains.

According to Fred, MediaTakeOut Presents…First Date is “kind of a traditional dating show, when you have one male or one female choose a potential mate. One man choosing between three women [and vice versa]. They’re going to try and figure out who best matches them. The good thing about it is, we made sure all of the dates were spicy, there’s humor and a lot of sexy in it.”

While it may be odd to launch a network with a reality dating show, curiosity might drive some of MTO’s 10 million visitors to tune in next Tuesday. You can find it on MediaTakeOut’s homepage; no need to download an app or anything of the sort.

“On the day we are launching the show, the entire homepage is going to look different,” says Mwangaguhunga.”There’s going to be a place for this player right in the middle.  On the days that it is not there [you can] access it  [via the] archive.”

Fred plans to stray from the typical MTO programming in order to capture a wider audience. “We’re working on a couple [shows]. The next show looks like it’s going to be a serious documentary of celebrities that we all know. We are going to have hard news programs and investigative journalism shows. We are trying to create a bunch of different programs for everyone.

MediaTakeOut.com will be producing a new episode every week for six weeks. Once the initial series “First Date” is complete, Fred hopes to have a variety of daily programs.

“MediaTakeout Presents: First Date” debuts on Tuesday, November first on the home page of MediaTakeOut.com.
