She may be paying tribute to her husband on stage, but in a recent radio interview it sounded like Katy Perry dissed Beyoncé. Similar to most reasonable people with working senses, the ex-Mrs. Brand has paid Beyoncé several compliments as a singer and entertainer. However, some of the strongest Beyoncé supporters (or stans, flatly) didn’t care for a comment Katy made in reference to a potential duet with her pop star home girl, Rihanna.

She said: “I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves, not ‘Beautiful Liar.’ But I definitely want to do something that is so iconic. Rihanna’s kind of busy too. We’re both busy but we planted the seed two years ago. How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”

As a result of her choice of words, Katy Perry’s mentions on Twitter currently mirror the aftermath of a California wildfire. For the record, Beyoncé and Shakira’s song premiered high on the Hot 100 but soon dropped faster than a stripper during a rent crunch. For obvious reasons. Said with love, stans. I’m a part of the Beyhive, too.
