Rumors of a Whitney Houston biopic helmed by longtime mentor Clive Davishave been squashed by the music executive, but that hasn’t stopped actresses from expressing their desires to play the legendary vocalist in a movie one day.
Brandy has already made her intentions clear, now we can add Rihanna to the list. Speaking with The Press Association, the singer who’s just gotten into acting revealed, “That would be something that I would have to give my entire life to do because I would want to really pull it off. That’s a huge, huge role and whoever does it has to do a good job.”
Rihanna added that Whitney left a mark early on in her life, hence her part of the reason why she wants the challenge of playing the late singer. Rihanna explains: “My first song that I remember falling in love with was a Whitney Houston song — ‘I Will Always Love You,’” Rihanna said. “It was really inspiring and it made me develop a passion for music, so really she’s partly responsible for me being here in this industry.”
