Shaquille O'Neal Defends His "Kazaam" Movie
Shaq Has No Shame Over Doing “Kazaam”
If you think Shaquille O’Neal has any regret over doing the genie-themed flick Kazaam that he starred in back in the 1990s, think again. Speaking frankly with GQ, Shaq was asked when was the last time he watched the widely-panned film. Shaq answered, “The other day.”
On how he felt it followed up, Shaq quipped in response: “I was a medium-level juvenile delinquent from Newark who always dreamed about doing a movie. Someone said, ‘Hey, here’s $7 million, come in and do this genie movie.’ What am I going to say, no? So I did it.”
Fair enough.
For the record, the movie was made for $20 million and made a little bit less than that. Maybe the TV rights have since helped it break even.
