Missy Elliott’s management has released a statement scolding promoters who claimed that she was booked to perform at this year’s SupaFest concert in Australia. In a statement, Monami Entertainment says there will initial discussions between Missy’s camp and promoters about her participation, but that nothing was ever confirmed. The statement says: “It’s unfortunate that the coordinators for the event gave her fans in Australia high hopes for a performance she was never confirmed for.”

And Missy’s manager, Mona Scott-Young adds, “On behalf of Missy Elliott and our entire team, we apologize to her fans for the false promotion and are taking measures to resolve this matter.”

Missy herself adds: “Although I will not be performing at Supafest, I am sure the lineup and the show will still be great. I feel awful that my fans have been led to believe that I will be in Australia.”
