Rapper Nicki Minaj doesn’t give damn about you think of her. She didn’t get that attitude from her father, that’s for sure. Minaj’s father Omar is coming out to respond to Nicki’s statements made in her interview with Nightline. Nicki’s pops is so upset because the Barbie recounted stories of her father being an abusive alcoholic and drug addict. Nicki went as far to say she wanted to kill him when she was younger. Omar is defending himself because he doesn’t want people to think he’s some kind of villain.
Nicki Minaj told Nightline, “I wanted to kill [my dad]. I used to wish he was dead…We were afraid for my mother’s life because whenever he would have real bad outbursts he would threaten to kill my mother.” Omar and other members of Nicki’s say she is exaggerating more than a little bit. Omar confesses he had anger management issues when Nicki was growing up, but insists he never got as bad as Nicki Minaj described.
Reports are saying Omar never knew his daughter had such ill will towards him. He still loves his daughter, despite her airing her issues with him out in an interview instead of in person.
