“In Living Color” Gets Honored At The TV Land Awards
Decades after it went off the air, fans of In Living Color have been clamoring for the next great black sketch comedy show. There have been plenty of sketch comedy shows who tried, but could never match the groundbreaking comedy show created by Keenen Ivory Wayans. Though the show caught flack for pushing the envelope while on the air, the TV Land Awards took some time out to honor the show at its annual show.
The Wayans Family–Keenen, Shawn, Kim, Marlon–joined former cast members Jim Carrey, Tommy Davidson, Kelly Coffield Park, T’Keyah Crystal Keymah and David Alan Grier to receive The Groundbreaking Award. Whoopi Goldberg presented the award to them. Even a select few of Fly Girls were in attendance. Host Kelly Ripa got the party going with her rousing booty bouncing Fly Girl number. Jennifer Lopez was noticeably absent from the night’s festivities.
Tune into the TV Land Awards when they air on April 29th at 9pm.
