In today’s I Have Money But Refuse To Pay Taxes news, former Bad Boy rapper Ma$e is in the red with Uncle Sam.
The Harlem rhymer was recently spotted in the studio with various artists and those back taxes may be the reason. According to papers filed in Florida, Mason Betha needs to cough up $124,774.85 to get the IRS off his back. Court documents claim Ma$e failed to pay taxes in the years 2000, 2001, and 2004. Those were the last few years he was getting some sort of real money from the music business.
Many remember Ma$e abruptly ditching the music industry to answer his calling from God to minister the gospel. Pastor Betha hung up his robe and attempted to make a comeback to rap music in 2004, but his Welcome Back album was met with a lukewarm response.
Ma$e’s camp has remained tight-lipped concerning his tax issues. We’ll update as details reveal themselves.
