The “Run The World (Girls)” received the award for her piece that was published in Essence Magazine chronicling her year long hiatus from the music industry. Beyonce’s award winning article was called “Eat, Play, Love.” It took first place in the Arts & Entertainment category.
Essence Magazine’s entertainment director spoke to The Daily News about Beyonce’s honor, saying, “She’s a real writer. We had to edit her, but everyone gets edited except Toni Morrison.”
We wonder if Beyonce will be on hand to accept her award in person on May 15th.
