The Amazing Spider-Man is currently the #1 movie at the box office and Andrew Garfield has proven himself a worthy heir to the infamous red and blue tights. Unfortunately in America, the thought of a black actor playing such an iconic superhero was more than some fans boys could bear.
Two years ago when actor Donald Glover started a campaign to play Spider-Man, fans took to the message boards to voice their displeasure at having an “affirmative action Peter Parker.”
The Urban Daily sat down with Garfield to get his thoughts on the racist backlash from Glover’s bid to play the infamous web-slinger:
