The king and queen of R&B/Soul are joining forces to spread their music. Mary J. Blige and D’Angelo will embark on The Liberation Tour which is set to begin in Virginia Beach.

When Mary J. Blige first spoke of the tour, everyone was excited and skeptical simultaneously. Many wondered if the reclusive D’Angelo would actually do a full tour. However, those negative notions were put to rest after D’Angelo’s set at Essence Music Fest and his funky performance at the BET Awards. When asked about the idea behind getting on a tour with D’Angelo, Blige said, “I felt like it would be refreshing and fun for people to see him and Mary J. Blige on the road together.”
