The most recent sports scandal hit the cycling world during this year’s Olympics. It was reported Lance Armstrong, the world’s most decorated cyclist, would be stripped of his seven Tour de France titles because he was doping. The poster child for doping, Barry Bonds, has come out in support of the cyclist, claiming Armstrong doesn’t deserve this type of punishment.

As many would say, Bonds even commenting on this is ironic since he was convicted of obstruction of justice for lying during a federal investigation of baseball players who used steroids. Camera crews caught Bonds as he was making his way back to his car outside of L.A. hotspot BOA. He was asked to share his feelings about Lance Armstrong getting his wins revoked because of doping allegations. Bonds responded, “I think if it wasn’t for him, U.S. cycling wouldn’t even be here. He was the greatest cyclist of all.”

“I don’t know what they’re doing, all I know is I love him. He’s a great athlete,” Bonds continued.

After listening to what Barry Bonds had to say, is it safe to say there is no honor among thieves, but there is some amongst steroid using athletes? What do you think? Was the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency right to rule in favor of stripping Lance Armstrong of his Tour de France titles?
