What would happen if crime were legal for one night out of the year? The new thriller “The Purge” examines just that. The film, which hits theaters June 7th, takes a look at American in the year 2022 where crime is virtually nonexistent because one night out of the year all bets are off and anything goes. One family makes plans to survive the night of purging by staying in their home until they find out someone in the home is a target for death. Star of the film Ethan Hawke says the film is a fun popcorn flick that also speaks to the deeper levels of our sociopolitical time.
