“Boardwalk Empire” To End After Fifth Season
All good things must come to an end – at the TCA’s (Television Critics Association) press tour, HBO announced that “Boardwalk Empire” will wrap after the fifth season, reports Variety.

The 1920’s set drama, while a critical and awards darling ( it garnered 18 Emmy nominations when it debuted), never seemed to have the same audience buzz as “Breaking Bad” or “Mad Men.”

Terence Winter, series creator said, “We’re thrilled to get the go-ahead for a fifth season of ‘Boardwalk Empire.’ After much discussion with my creative team and HBO, we’ve decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion.”

Two of the show’s actors, Michael K. Williams and Jeffrey Wright, are both in the running for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the NAACP Image Awards, which will air on TV One February 22nd.
