FACT OF THE DAY: ‘Uncle Phil’ Was A Veteran Who Served In The Vietnam War
Our beloved “Uncle Phil,” did not only play a hero and good father role to his family on the ‘90s sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” he was a hero in real life as well.
Actor James Avery, served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Avery participated in the Tet Offensive from 1968 to 1969. After serving in the Navy, he moved to San Diego and began writing for PBS before branching out into acting.
