The 2007 action-adventure flick “300” had moviegoers tapping into their hidden bloodlust almost instantly. Fans ate up every minute of the slick and stylish retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae which was apart of the Persian Wars.

Now, eight years after the original, “300: Rise of an Empire” is set to hit theaters. After defeating King Leonidas and his army of 300, Xerxes leads his Persian army on the second invasion of Greece. The film follows depicts the Battle of Salamis.
