Watch Lupe Fiasco’s Completely Random Cameo On ‘The Eric Andre Show’
Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco is in the midst of a press run to promote his upcoming album, Tetsuo And Youth, which is scheduled for a January 20 release. While he’s been avoiding Twitter, Lupe recently talked to Thomas Golianopoulos for Billboard.com about his relevancy, his relationship wit Atlantic, and choosing to weigh in on Iggy Azalea’s place in Hip Hop. Friday night, Lupe appeared on an episode of Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show that lacked the gravity of any of those topics.
Lupe appears 36 seconds into the clip, which can be viewed below. Andre employs doppelgangers of varying quality—Andy Samberg as himself, an unknown actor as Jersey Shore’s Pauly D, and Lupe as co-host Hannibal Buress.
It’s a frivolous, nonsensical appearance for Lupe who has seen his popularity ebb and flow based on his remarks about Iggy Azalea and President Barack Obama, while engaging in disagreements with Kid Cudi, Azealia Banks, and Chief Keef. Lupe Fiasco has repeatedly stated Tetsuo And Youth will be his final album with Atlantic Records.
