Kevin Durant, one of the league’s best players and the NBA’s reigning MVP, might be ending this season early.
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today (March 20) that KD has been “removed from basketball activities” and no timetable was provided for his return, according to ESPN.
“He’s not making the progress we’d hoped or expected,” OKC GM Sam Presti said.
Durant has been feeling sore due to a February surgery that was meant to help him with soreness in his foot. This discomfort was caused by an October procedure to repair a fracture. However, after several evaluations, it seems Durant’s soreness remains an issue.
While he is out indefinitely, it seems a timeline could come soon, ESPN’s Marc Stein reported.
“Kevin Durant out indefinitely. Thunder not putting a timetable on it yet. Durant to see additional specialists to help determine timetable,” he shared in a tweet.
