Alex Rodriguez Hit His 3,000th Hit
Alex Rodriguez Got His 3,000th Hit
Alex Rodriguez crossed a milestone on Friday night in a perfect way. He got his 3,000th hit off the Tigers’ Justin Verlander — of all people. Also, it was a home run. Derek Jeter and Wade Boggs are the only other players to get their 3,000th hit off a home run.
You already know Rodriguez’s story: he was baseball’s most hated figure only a year ago. He’s outperformed expectations this year and is a legit threat at the plate. This is why it’s baffling that Yankees Stadium didn’t play “Hate Me Now” when Rodriguez hit that 3,000th. Ah, well.
