Fetty Wap Is Throwing A Free Concert For High Schoolers In His Hometown

In just a matter of months, Fetty Wap has ascended up the ranks of hip-hop and is now the marquee name in the genre. We mean, doing shows with Taylor Swift and receiving co-signs from the likes of Kanye West and Drake will certainly boost your credo. With Fetty becoming an inspiration for his city, he to pay homage to his hometown of Paterson, N.J. by planning a free concert for high schoolers.
That’s right, Fetty is doing it for the kids. On Aug. 27, Fetty will perform at Bauerle Field, as his concert will run from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. Paterson public schools will be distributing 1200 tickets on Monday, Aug. 24 at Pennington Park on first come, first serve basis. In order to be permitted entrance, all kids will have to do is bring their school ID.
Paterson Mayor Joey Torres shared his elation with The Record’s Minjae Park. “The world is paying tribute to him, so why can’t we?” Torres said. “This is all about wishes coming true,” the mayor added. “This is an urban rags-to-riches story. It doesn’t get better than this.”
Talk about being an inspiration.
