Mexican officials confirmed on Wednesday that Jesus Alfredo Guzman, the 29-year-old son of jailed notorious drug lord, El Chapo, was kidnapped.

According to CNN, Guzman was eating at a popular restaurant on resort grounds in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, on Monday, when a group of men entered the restaurant, and separated men and women.

The group exited, taking a total of six men with them. Authorities believe the ambush was a retaliation effort on the Guzman family by a rival drug cartel.

CNN reports that out of the six men taken, four have been identified including Guzman: Juan Daniel Calva Tapia, 53,Josias Nahujali Rabago Borbolla, 35 and Víctor Galvan Ureña, 46.

No one has contacted Mexican authorities to report the men missing, and authorities have not heard from the kidnappers, Jalisco Attorney General Eduardo said at a press conference via CNN.

Guzman is still behind bars in a Juarez, Mexico, prison as his attorneys fight efforts to extradite him to the United States.
