How tall is Nate Robinson? Robinson is 5 feet, 9 inches tall. At that height, the Chicago Bulls point guard is not only tiny by NBA standards, but he’s shorter than the average American male, who stands slightly taller than 5 feet, 9.2 inches, according to most websites. Despite his small stature, the 28-year-old Seattle native and former two-sport (basketball and football) University of Washington athlete has won an unprecedented three NBA Slam Dunk contests.

At 5 feet, 9 inches tall, Robinson is the second-shortest NBA player, according to many sources. He’s slightly taller than Earl Boykins, the 5-foot, 5-inch guard who most recently played with the Houston Rockets in 2012. How does Robinson measure up against the shortest players in NBA history? According to TopTenz.net, Robinson is the fifth-shortest baller to ever grace the court, right behind Tyrone “Mugsy” Bogues (5 feet, 3 inches), Boykins, Anthony “Spud” Webb (5 feet, 7 inches) and Wataru “Kilo Wat” Misaka (5 feet, 7 inches).

Robinson hasn’t let his 5-foot, 9-inch frame hurt his career. In 2005, he was the 21st overall selection in the NBA draft, and the following year, as a member of the New York Knicks, he won his first Slam Dunk Contest in dramatic fashion, leaping over “Spud” Webb and achieving a perfect score of 50. After stints with the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Golden State Warriors, he signed with the Bulls in July 2012. As of Feb. 20, 2013, he was averaging 11.9 points and 4.1 assists per game.
