Anquan Boldin Reacts To Being Traded By Ravens [VIDEO]
After helping the Baltimore Ravens win their second Super Bowl, wide receiver Anquan Boldin was thanked with a trade to another team. This past weekend the Ravens traded the Pro Bowler to the San Francisco 49ers for what amounts to almost nothing–a sixth round draft pick.
Boldin was in Senegal with the Oxfam organization helping to restore farmland in the region when get got the news.
“For me it was an initial shock because I had no clue that I was going to be traded,” he told ESPN. ” But I mean it, for me it is also a good thing. … When I look at the organization and what they’re about … and as a football team, the talent that they have … I think it’s good, a good place for me to be.”
After making quarterback Joe Flacco the highest paid player in the NFL the Ravens have been looking to make cap room and Boldin was slated to make $6 Million next season.
The Ravens beat the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII for their second championship. Was this a “no hard feelings” gift from Ravens coach John Harbaugh to his brother Jim, the coach of the 49ers?
