Whenever something proves successful, people always try to duplicate it to taste a little bit of success themselves. The Supremes were a pioneering R&B girl group in the 1960s and now a film is documenting the rise of Australia’s answer to Diana Ross and the Supremes known as “The Sapphires.”

In the film which is already out in select theaters across the country, surrounds a group of four Aboriginal girls who have a tough time becoming singers. That is until their manager books them to perform for American troops in Vietnam during the war. The Sapphires’ star continues to rise and so do the tensions. will the group collapse underneath the pressures of fame? You have to go to the theaters to find out!
