After seven seasons as a co-star on NBC’s “30 Rock,” funny man Tracy Morgan is getting another shot at his own show. According to Deadline.com, FX has ordered a pilot starring Morgan called, “Death Pact.”

In Death Pact, Morgan stars as a formerly lazy, pot-dealing assistant high school coach who returns to his hometown as a decorated war hero. He runs across three down-on-their-luck friends and former students and sucks them into his new radical self-help philosophy, which involves harsh consequences for failure.

This sounds like bizarro world edition of “Fight Club,” which could be really funny or a true disaster, but we’re gambling on the former.  Since “30 Rock” ended Morgan has been on tour doing stand up comedy, hosted the Billboard Music Awards and preparing for his new baby with fiancee,  Megan Wollover.

Tracy Morgan had his own self-titled sitcom on NBC back in 2003, but it only lasted one season before being cancelled. Let’s hope this new show fairs better.
