In 2013 the console gaming market will get a much needed shot in the arm when Microsoft’s XBOX One and Sony’s PS4 hit stores later this year. You can already hear the scraping of lawn chairs and the ripple of wind ruffling the sidewalk tents as eager players line up to be among the first to try the next gen games.

However, those of us who have a little more patience (or just know better) are going to forego the immediate gratification that the smell of a fresh Playstation controller can bring. Why? Because there will be a short list of good games and more bugs in the system than “Hero’s Duty.”  If you’re not convinced, the producers at Geek Week have put together this handy PSA called “Launch Rock” to convey the pitfalls of buying a new game console at launch.

“Back in the 90s when you bought a new system it was basically ready to go,” sings the little Game Boy in a top hat. “But those  are gone by so buddy don’t be that guy. You want to be the first in line but I say no, no, no ,no…”  You’ve been warned.
