In 1993 Fredro Starr’s group Onyx pissed off reverends, barbershop owners and bootleggers with their NRA friendly debut album “Bacdafucup.” More than twenty years later the South Jamaica Queens native has added television and movies to his resume, but has never left the music far behind.
After releasing two solo albums and several mixtapes, the onetime “Moesha” star has released a new album with MC/producer The Audible Doctor called, “Made In The Streets.” The Audible Doctor is a native of Madison Wisconsin and in-house producer for The Brownbag Allstars. But many know him as one of the main forces behind NY’s legendary Fat Beats record store.
The video for the first single, “Everyday Hell” is a visually minimal but sonically full throwback to hip-hop’s dark, asphalt-flavored era.
Watch it below and stream the album after the jump.
Buy “Made In The Streets” on iTunes.
