In a finding that some will call fair, some will call too little and other’s will swear is excessive, a judge in the case of Ludacris versus his newest child’s mother Tamika Fuller has sided with the child’s mother and according to Radar Online, Luda must not only pay her a lot of cash, he must also take care of her legal bills as well.
In court documents filed on March 20, Tamika Fuller was named guardian of their 4-month-old daughter, Cai Bella,
“For the purpose of representing the best interest of the child.”
As we previously reported, Luda was very unhappy about his good name being drug through the mud in the media because of statements that Fuller had allegedly been making about him publicly. He tried to have the judge quiet her down as a result but say no go…the judge wasn’t going for that either. Radar reports that because Ludacris’ motion to have Fuller found in contempt was denied, he was knocked an extra $2,000 in fees for that too.
Said the judge,
“The Petitioner shall pay the Guardian ad Litem’s initial retainer of $7,500.00, to be replenished to the full amount when depleted to $1,500.00.
The Guardian ad Litem shall be billed at a rate of $325.00 per hour. The retainer shall be paid directly to the Guardian ad Litem within 14 days of the entry of this order.”
Fuller asked that her attorney fees be taken care of and the Georgia Superior Court of Fulton County ruled in her favor saying,
“Petitioner shall pay to Respondent’s counsel, Thirty Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000.00), in addition to any amounts previously awarded or paid, as an award of temporary attorney’s fees and expenses of litigation. Said amount shall be paid to Respondent’s counsel within 10 days of the date of this order.”
Rulings that slant so far in favor of the mother are why guys feel like they can’t win in court as it pertains to custody battles and child support cases. Well…at least now it’s over and Luda can go back to doing what he does best…living his life and entertaining the masses. We were pretty sure he was going to come out of this unscathed professionally…and we still think we were right!
