Actor/comedian Kevin Hart is the man of the hour in the world of comedy. After riding the wave of success of the hit comedy “Ride Along, ” Kevin Hart gets a little serious in the upcoming issue of GQ Magazine. In the interview, Hart talks about his late mother, which celebrities he’s modeling his career after, and what happened to the money from his first development deal with ABC.

The “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star told the magazine that he is modeling his career after the likes of Jay Z, Beyonce, and Diddy. While all three of those entertainers have made truckloads of money through music, they’ve also diversified their income to position themselves as moguls in the game. Hart is doing the same thing by stepping behind the cameras and writing and producing TV shows and films. See what else he had to say below.

 

On his upbringing:

“I got the stern end of the stick. It was kind of that iron fist. I am who I am today because of my mother.”

On his core audience:

“You make yourself broad. You make yourself appealing. ‘Hey, y’all, I’m cool with everybody.’ That’s my message.”

On where the money went from his first development deal with ABC:

“I don’t know where the hell it went. It’s all in throwback jerseys and bomber jackets. That’s why I have so much respect for money now.”
