As many analysts projected, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was selected as the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Houstan Texans. The 6’5″ junior was taken in the first round and found out where he was playing professional ball just three minutes before the announcement.

“I’m feeling overwhelmed,” Clowney said. “I’m feeling great right now. It’s just a blessing, man. I appreciate it. I’m just glad to be a part of the Houston Texans.”

On the other end of the spectrum 2012 Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel, aka “Johnny Football” was selected number 22 overall by the Cleveland Browns after they traded up. The quarterback waited three hours before his name was called, inspiring the hashtag “BeforeManzielGetsDrafted” on Twitter. But he seems all to happy just to be playing.

“I’m going to take a very aggressive mindset into it,” Manziel said. “I’m going to work extremely hard to get what I want, and I know what that is. I want to win, and I want to be successful. The amount of time I put in and the heart I put into this, which I know I’m capable of doing, will tell the tale.”
