Singer Jhene Aiko is garnering a lot of attention due to her airy vocals and raw honesty in her songwriting. Now that the world knows she can sing, Aiko is unveiling a new talent–rapping. Aiko has released a new version of her beloved song “Stay Ready (What A Life).” The song originally featured Los Angeles It rapper Kendrick Lamar spiting a verse. However, the new version finds J Henny delivering Lamar’s lines.

Jhene Aiko mentioned her J Henny alter ego during an interview with Rap-Up. “She’s an aspiring rapper. She still sings, but she’s more aggressive. She likes to really talk a lot of shit and talk about things that a lot of R&B singers don’t talk about,” she described.

There’s no word yet as to whether J Henny will make an appearance on Jhene Aiko’s upcoming debut album “Souled Out.” WE’ll have to find out when the album drops later this summer.
